There was something different about being one of eight [women] on a set and realizing that “oh my gosh, this is what it’s like to be in the majority.” You know, this is what it’s like when that happens. It was a lovely experience to be on set where there’s a shorthand, you don’t have to explain your experiences as a woman. It doesn’t have to pass through a filter. And as the conversation in the world at large is deepening about this issue and we’re starting to want better representation for everybody, it feels really special to have been in an example of that that was so positive. There’s just this really weird stereotype and stigma about women, a group of women being together, that we possibly couldn’t get along and be professional and be loving to each other, and we didn’t do any of that, we didn’t buy into any of that. We had a blast and it was great. And yes, I’m gonna say it, I hope there’s a sequel because I want to do it again.
“I want to protect others from going through the worst of what I experienced. I want to help make what I consider the best of my experiences to be the norm, as it always should have been.” – Anne Hathaway for Glamour USA.
[Ocean’s 8] was really significant for me because it was my first movie after having my son. And you know, I’m not somebody – one of the lucky things about being in this business for so long is that I’ve really kind of come to terms with the pressure that you get to look a certain way as an actress. And I don’t beat myself up about any of that stuff anymore…
