“To surrender dreams — this may be madness. Too much sanity may be madness — and maddest of all: to see life as it is, and not as it should be!”

Silver sees Flint as being filled with rage, and he is. But deep down, he’s also never relinquished Thomas’s idealism. Flint wanted to wage war against the world, but his belief in his ability to change it — and in Silver and Madi’s ability to see it through — was genuine.

#my love#i have such complicated feelings about eleanor#i love her as a character hate her as a person and hated her ending#i love the recurring thread that eleanor will do anything to protect her power#that she’s willing to change to follow power even if it means making the wrong choices#i love the way her and max’s arcs intersect and her complicated relationship with vane#and the father-daughter relationship she has with flinr#but i really disliked her ending#the pregnancy storyline literally only exists for manpain#eleanor might have loved rogers but she also loved max and vane and betrayed everyone she’d ever known#i wish that her and rogers’ storylines had been switched and she found him dead instead and realized#that sacrificing everything for power is worthless
